Ovarian Volume

Doctors use the size of ovaries, known as ovarian volume, to check for different health conditions. It helps them understand ovarian health, diagnose polycystic ovary syndrome, assess tumor risks, and evaluate pelvic anatomy. They usually rely on imaging techniques like ultrasound and MRI to measure ovarian volume. Polycystic ovaries (PCO) are identified on an ultrasound by finding 12 or more small follicles in each ovary, each measuring 2-9 mm, or by detecting increased ovarian volume over 10 ml.
