Iodine breaks down the proteins and cell structures of microbes. At 0.5% PVP-I concentration, SARS-CoV-2 is eliminated within 15 seconds in lab conditions.

HOW TO USE · TWICE DAILY

Clear first
Blow your nose before use to remove any mucus. This gives the iodine full contact with the nasal lining.
Position
Hold your head upright. Gently place the nozzle into one nostril, keeping the other closed.
Spray and breathe
Press the pump as you breathe in. Spray 3 times into one nostril, then breathe in slowly through your nose. Repeat for the other nostril.
Increase for higher risk
For general protection: twice daily. Before entering a higher-risk setting: add an extra spray before and after. Short-term maximum: 4 applications (12 sprays) per day for up to 2 weeks.

What is Nasodine®?
Nasodine® is an over-the-counter nasal spray containing Povidone-Iodine (PVP-I) — a broad-spectrum antiseptic used in healthcare and surgical settings for over 60 years. It is designed to neutralize bacteria and viruses in the nasal passages before they can reach the lungs.
Is it a cure for COVID-19 or the flu?
No. Nasodine® does not cure or treat any illness. It may reduce virus levels in the nose if used at the start of exposure. It is focused on nasal hygiene and prevention, not treatment. This product has not been evaluated by the FDA and is not intended to diagnose, treat, cure, or prevent any disease.
Do I need a prescription?
No. Nasodine® is available over the counter without a prescription.
Using Nasodine®
How often should I use it?
Twice daily for general protection. Up to 4 applications (12 sprays) per day is considered safe for short-term use of 2 days to 2 weeks. Follow the directions in the package leaflet.
How is Nasodine® different from NOWONDER™?
Both are nasal sprays designed to eliminate bacteria and viruses. Nasodine® uses Povidone-Iodine (PVP-I) as its antiseptic. NOWONDER™ uses a nitric oxide–releasing formulation. Both are drug-free and available without a prescription. They use different mechanisms and are generally compatible — space applications by at least one hour.
Is it safe for children?
Recommended for ages 12 and older with adult supervision. Not recommended for younger children unless a doctor specifically approves it.
Can I use it alongside another nasal spray?
Current evidence suggests most nasal sprays are generally compatible. Space different sprays by at least one hour and follow recommended maximum doses for each. Consult a pharmacist if you have concerns.
