Ovarian Follicles

Ovarian follicles are tiny fluid-filled sacs located in a woman's ovaries. They release hormones that affect the menstrual cycle. When women start puberty, they have about 300,000 to 400,000 of these follicles. Each follicle can potentially release an egg for fertilization.
