PCOS
Luteinizing Hormone (LH)
Luteinizing hormone, or LH, is made by cells in the front part of the pituitary gland. The hypothalamus controls how much LH is made by releasing another hormone. In women of reproductive age, a quick increase in LH, called an LH surge, causes ovulation and helps form the corpus luteum. Women with PCOS often have high LH levels.
