Hyperlipidemia
Hyperlipidemia means having high levels of fats or fat-carrying proteins in the blood. It describes both the test result and the different conditions that can cause it. Women with PCOS often have a type of fat imbalance called dyslipidemia, which includes low HDL ("good" cholesterol) and high triglycerides, as well as high LDL and non-HDL cholesterol. These issues are usually more severe in women with PCOS.
